What is Covid-19?
In a rapidly growing number of cases, COVID-19 symptoms are lasting weeks or months after initially testing positive for the virus. These people have recovered from the worst impacts of Covid-19 and have since tested negative but still have overwhelming symptoms.
It appears that Long COVID isn’t discriminatory in who it affects. Reports of long-haulers have been experienced by all age groups, by those who were hospitalized as a result of the virus and those who originally only experienced mild symptoms.
Based on our knowledge of the virus and our experience in treating complicated conditions, we hypothesize that symptoms persist due to the body’s inability to properly utilize oxygen and the adverse effects the virus has on our immune system.
